Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our team. As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive strategic initiatives, improve patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiency and advance healthcare innovation. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning to develop data pipelines and solutions that will provide data-driven insights to drive strategic decisions. This includes development of predictive analytics models using various machine learning techniques and analyzing large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights to inform decisions.
In addition, you will work with stakeholders to define data requirements and develop data strategies. Develop an understanding of the healthcare industry and the challenges facing HCA Healthcare. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of advanced analytics solutions. Communicate results and recommend solutions to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning and data science. Troubleshoot problems and identify potential solutions.
The Data Scientist role requires 'self-starters' who are proficient in problem solving and capable of bringing clarity to complex situations.
It requires contributing to strategic technical direction and support for ReBA Product Development’s Machine Learning capabilities. It also requires working closely with others, frequently in a matrixed environment, and with little supervision. This candidate will have a history of increasing responsibility in a small multi-role team. This position requires a candidate who can analyze business requirements, perform design tasks, construct, test, and implement solutions with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Developing predictive models on large-scale datasets to address various business problems through demonstrating advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining techniques. Using combinations of Python, Azure, Vertex AI, AutoML, Vertex AI Notebooks, Document AI, BigQuery ML
Developing predictive analytics models using various machine learning techniques
Evaluating the performance of predictive models and algorithms using appropriate metrics and validation techniques, and iterate on model improvements
Building and maintaining data pipelines that are optimized for machine learning applications
Providing guidance on technology choices and design considerations for AI/ML programs
Collaborating with business analysts, project lead, management, and customers on requirements
Assisting with the training and enablement of end users, including data scientists, program managers, and data consumers
Sharing knowledge and experience to contribute to growth of overall team capabilities
Designing fit-for-purpose products to ensure products align to the customer's strategic plans and technology road maps
Actively participate in technical group discussions and adopt any new technologies to improve the development and operations.
Assisting team members with production issues and offer support, guidance, and assist in communicating issues with appropriate stakeholders when necessary
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates demonstrating significant experience and a proven track record in the field of AI/ML and platform development.; Master's or higher degree is a plus.
1+ year(s) of experience in Healthcare - Preferred
10+ years of experience in Information Technology - Required
Proficiency with Python and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.)
Experience producing meaningful visualizations/dashboards/presentations to business stakeholders
Experience solving "full stack" machine learning problems, from data collection to model training to deployment, and experience using machine learning.
Understanding and exposure to the different levels of the data science cycle (definition, collection, preparation, extraction, analysis, modeling, and deployment)
Experience with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts & scalable software design principles
Experience working with SQL/MySQL
Experience working with GCP AI and ML Products such as: Vertex AI, AutoML, Vertex AI Notebooks, Document AI, BigQuery ML
Ability to multitask and to balance competing priorities.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including a desire to work within a highly-matrixed, team-oriented environment.
