InstructorPosition #:00828208 - Requisition #:35281Job Summary:The Advanced Practice Provider in this role will work closely with our Associate Lead APP and collaborate with other Department leadership to meet the department's mission. The APP should be an excellent clinician with strong management and leadership skills. This role is accountable for developing and managing the quality of advanced practice clinical services/programs in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.Typical Physical Demands: The NP/PA position requires the ability to handle and lift patients and operate required equipment. The position may also require a stationary position or movement for extended periods as required during the provision of services. This position requires frequent communication and must be able to exchange accurate information. The NP/PA may also be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, and it is expected that the candidate will be appropriately knowledgeable regarding universal safety precautions.Key Responsibilities:Chair monthly APP Faculty MeetingSupervise/mentor the associate lead APPProvide oversight to the Lead Scheduler for the APP schedule including call and holiday scheduleCollaborate with APP EM Fellowship Directors and assist with education initiativesParticipate in ED process improvement projects as assignedProvide feedback and conduct performance evaluations for APP faculty, as assignedMentorship of APP faculty as assignedAssess APP clinical productivity and clinical care quality and develop group performance improvement plansPromote Department initiatives and help to align goals of the APP group with the Department missionWork with Clinical Decision Unit leadership to continuously evaluate care providedAssist in recruitment and ongoing training of APPs appointed to the faculty in the Emergency Department:Chair Search Committee for all new APP hiresCoordinate onboarding schedule for all training with the APP Scheduler and participate in orientation training shiftsOversee and participate in overall clinical orientation in Supertrack, CDU and Main ED zones
Participate as a member of the following committees. If unable to attend, a designee may be appointed, but > 75% participation is required unless otherwise noted:
