Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reading of drawings/blueprints, production documentation, complete documentation, maintain high quality workmanship and organizational habits

Preparation and inspection of components for assembly; cleaning, part verification and fit-checks, grit blasting

Cutting, stripping, cleaning, inspection and handling of fiber optic cables in preparation for termination

Terminations of Fiber Optic contacts involving various tools, epoxy procedures, crimping, handling and inspection

Polishing techniques and methods for Fiber Optic contacts, polishing papers, sequence, handling, inspection

Knowledge and completion of optical testing including proper use of test jumpers, insertion loss and return loss equipment and documenting measurements

Oral/Written Communication – Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Records data

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, or equivalent

Ability to apply common sense in performing job

Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Ability to use basic high school math skills

2-3 years complex cable assembly experience

Physical Demands:

Good coordination and flexibility in both hands

Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more

Good vision including passing color blindness test

Work Environment:

Factory environment

Use of safety glasses

Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers
