Who We Are:A nonprofit, nonsectarian community-based organization with the mission to transform lives of low- and moderate-income people through employment, education, housing, and health care. We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, youth, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.Our Brooklyn-based Early Childhood Center operates 9 toddler, 3K and UPK classrooms enrolling 139 2-5 year olds. They attend school day/school year, extended day/extended year, aftercare and summer camp through NYCDOE Birth to Five contract and subsidized fees. Children and their families represent diverse cultures, languages, socio-economics, LGBTQIA+ identities, and differing abilities. Our early childhood center is part of a larger network of child and youth services.We are currently seeking an experienced, NYS-certified Early Childhood Director for our Brooklyn center.What You’ll Do:We seek an experienced Early Childhood Director to head a team of 36 staff, including an Education Director, a behavioral specialist, a parent coordinator, head teachers, assistant teachers, office support and two cooks. Reporting to the Director of Youth and Education, the Center Director, Early Childhood has overarching responsibility for all aspects to achieve excellence with education, enrollment, operations, regulatory compliance, and staffing. S/he/they take the lead on all administrative responsibilities, as follows: Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Provide Strategic Leadership
for short and long-term achievement of high-quality culture, pedagogy, staff, operations, administration and enrollment for our centerDrive Program and Regulatory Compliance
with NYCPS,Birth to Five contract, NYCDOHM, CACFP and Local 205/CSA contracts, such as e-systems (ie. myschools, vportal), permits, regulatory consultants, staff and student files, and meal planning/cost management, etc.Supervise and Support Education Director
in order to achieve high standards for instruction, child development, family engagement and staff performance.Supervise Kitchen and Office StaffOversee Student Enrollment, including outreach,
class composition, attendance, health and curriculum data.Ensure
Excellent Family Supports
for the enrollment process, Extended Day/Extended Year slots, tuition/fees, student assessments, home-school partnership and more.Lead Staff Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Retention, and Regulatory ComplianceBudget and Manage Fiscal Resources
(Birth to Five contract, billing, collections, fundraising) and expenses (accounts payable, payroll, invoices, vendors) in coordination with fiscal and payroll team.Direct Operations
in coordination with kitchen and office staff as well as Facilities, IT and Payroll/Benefits teamsLead Advocacy Efforts
for favorable early childhood policies and wages in close partnership with Director of Youth and EducationOther duties as assigned by the Director of Youth and Education.What We Are Looking For:Must hold a NYS Certification in Birth to Grade TwoWhat's In It For You:Compensation Range: $115,000-$125,000
