Job Description:

We are looking for you to join our team. Clinicians perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and responsibilities in collaboration with other therapeutic staff. Works effectively and collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team to enhance the smooth delivery of quality behavioral health care.

Requirements:

Masters in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.

License eligible in related field (SW, LMHC, MFT)

License preferred but not required.

Essential job responsibilities:

Assumes responsibility for the clinical oversight and management of assigned patients, demonstrating a robust commitment to proactive collaboration with fellow staff, community providers, and leadership to ensure the delivery of safe and therapeutic treatment. Demonstrates competency in utilization review and insurance authorization. Expertly plans and facilitates highly impactful individual and group programs tailored to meet the dynamic and evolving needs of the patients. Integrates advanced DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) skills seamlessly into the group programming, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care. Additionally, recognizes the importance of addiction treatment and possesses a deep knowledge of evidence-based practices in this area. Possesses general understanding of psychotropic medications and their role in the treatment of the patient. Strives for excellence in supporting the partial hospitalization mission, emphasizing a strong and positive commitment to elevating the overall standard of quality patient care.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:

Carry a clinical caseload and maintain the required productivity level per the Program Director.

Maintain appropriate records and consistently complete paperwork requirements.

Complete accurate diagnostic assessments, develop treatment plans that are goal oriented and time limited and maintain appropriate plans.

Consistently provide appropriate individual, group and crisis intervention treatment for patients with mental health and substance abuse problems.

Assess crisis or emergency situations and intervene immediately with appropriate clinical treatment for patients

Coordinate care with outpatient providers, programs, and support, as well as, facilitate referrals if indicated

Attend all treatment team meetings and work collaboratively with other team members.

Attend all appropriate clinical and administrative departmental meetings.

Support and implement administrative decisions in collaboration with PHP clinician.

Work with insurance to obtain approval for services provided.

Utilize and/or provide supervision to enhance professional improvement and development.

Maintain a solid understanding of hospital policies and protocols, practices within those policies and protocols, and enforces such when appropriate.

Participate in ongoing quality improvement studies that will have positive patient care outcomes.

Maintain solid understanding of and follow regulatory agencies’ expectations and guidelines (i.e. DMH, DPH, JCAHO, payors, etc.).

Maintain yearly/biyearly requirements of CPR and Restraint Prevention as well as other competencies as required by the position.

Maintain professional license &/or certification through participation in continuing education opportunities that are relevant to working with the PHP patient population.

Perform other duties as assigned.
