JOB SUMMARY:
The Group Lead I is responsible for assisting the Group Lead II with day to day operations of the department to maximize quality output. The Group Lead I must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the department. This position also supports judgements regarding scheduling, work priorities, and material availability & quality; handling employee concerns; applying rational systems to solve practical problems; dealing with a variety of concrete variables with only limited standardization; and interpreting a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, and/or schedule instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Ability to perform and demonstrate most tasks of the department.
Monitor and adjust workflow to meet the requirements of the schedule.
Mentor and assist in training new team members.
Assist in the implementation of production policies and procedures.
Assign work and lead by example through hands-on work.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assist in product inspections and evaluate the quality of the work prior to the product leaving the area.
Assist with monthly inventory and improve process accuracy.
Ability to interact with customers and customer representatives in a professional manner consistent with company practices.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Six (6) or more months of experience of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
Experience of performing all tasks within the department.
Regular attendance is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or Technical Degree
Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing principle such as value stream, 5S, Seven General Types of Waste and project planning.
