Johns Hopkins University is looking for a dynamic team player to serve as the Audience Engagement Manager for the Johns Hopkins University Blomberg Center in Washington, DC. The Audience Engagement Manager will build and maintain strong connections with our target audiences across various platforms. They will drive the planning process and execution for all Hopkins Bloomberg Center virtual and hybrid events, including signature series such as the Congressional Briefing Series, Johns Hopkins Rapid Response Briefing, and the Health Policy Forum.
The Audience Engagement Manager will also oversee registration platforms for in-person events and devise pre-and post-event audience engagement strategies to ensure the consistent delivery of a high-quality and accessible event experience to all Johns Hopkins University audiences. Additionally, the Audience Engagement Manager will leverage their expertise in audience analysis and social listening to help grow and differentiate audiences, increase the profile of programs taking place in the building, and build affinity for the University brand.
About the Hopkins Bloomberg Center
A bustling hub of collaboration, dialogue and discovery right in the heart of the nation’s Capital, the Hopkins Bloomberg Center hosts daily in-person, hybrid and virtual programming from all corners of the John Hopkins University community. The Center frequently partners with prominent domestic and international organizations, as well as government entities and multilateral institutions, to create programming that brings Johns Hopkins policy expertise, research, and data to the forefront of the policymaking conversation in Washington and beyond.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Create comprehensive event project plans and schedules, including working with event and programming colleagues to create run-of-show documentation and ensure events are delivered within time and monetary requirements.
Conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners and talent, including outside technical vendors; escalate risks and challenges appropriately, drive creation of live,
recorded, and on-demand event content, such as Zoom webinars, livestreams, town halls, etc.
Focus on ensuring virtual event accessibility and continuous enhancement and integration of accessibility technologies in the virtual event space.
Drive all event testing and quality control procedures before and during the events.
Act as the in-house expert on supporting video streaming technologies, live closed captioning and related.
Build processes for repeatability and scalability of event-related activities.
Manage virtual event video assets and metadata on online streaming platforms, such as IBM, Vimeo, YouTube and/or other social streaming platforms.
Creating and sharing visual and narrative virtual event analytics reporting regularly (monthly, quarterly, annually).

Physical Requirements
Based in-person at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center, the position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Helps to manage deliverables from external vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Five years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of experience using event registration technologies, i.e., Eventbrite, Cvent, etc.
Two or more years technical experience with webinar platforms, i.e. Zoom, WebEx, or similar.
Two or more years live virtual event production and/or video asset management in live or archive environments.
Working knowledge of web-based live video production platforms, I.e. Streamyard, Restream.io, or software-based applications such as OBS or Wirecast.
Experience with email marketing technologies and contact management software is a strong plus.
