Job Title: Program Coordinator, Palliative Care Education
Department: Admin Palliative Care
Location: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania - 3400 Spruce St

Hours: Mon-Fri office hours per department needs
Summary:
The Program Coordinator will coordinate and support educational programming for palliative care across the Penn Medicine health system.
The Program Coordinator shall be responsible for the development and attainment of the service mission, short- and long-term goals, operational goals, and objectives identified for these initiatives.
This integrated role will encompass both long-range program planning as well as day-to-day administrative functions.
Health system responsibilities will include oversight of the Serious Illness Care Program, grant-related educational initiatives, and annual educational programming.
It is expected that this individual will be a strong program builder and operational generalist who is comfortable working with a broad range of staff, faculty, and students.
This is an integrated position with dual reporting to both the Director of Administration, Palliative Care Program and the Director of Palliative Care Education.
Responsibilities:
Penn Medicine Palliative Care Program Accountabilities: Oversee the Serious Illness Care Program (SICP), ensuring continued growth and expansion.
Serve as project manager for implementations, creating and implementing work plans, managing timelines, tracking milestones, etc.
Serve as a representative of the program internally and externally to national partners.
Propose and develop improvements to SICP training as needed, including updating presentation materials and any necessary communication content.
Develop baseline metrics and methods for evaluating SICP program, trainings, and trainers
In coordination with Education Director, oversee quality measurement and evaluation of SICP program, including trainee experience, trainer quality, formats, etc.
Support the pool of 25+ trainers ensuring regular opportunities to train, provision of feedback, and compensation/recognition as feasible.
In coordination with the Palliative Care Administrative Coordinator, manage logistics around SICP trainings, including scheduling, CME processing, and data tracking.
Manage grant-related educational initiatives.
In partnership with the Educational Director and clinical leadership, support efforts around grant-related or donor-funded educational initiatives, including the Berkman Champions Program and the Summer Pipeline Program.
In coordination with the Director of Administration, track and manage educational-related grant spending.
Oversee planning of annual educational programming.
In coordination with the Educational Director and the Administrative Coordinator, ensure an annual curriculum of grand rounds, journal clubs, and case conferences.
Perelman School of Medicine CARE-7 Program Accountabilities:
Work in partnership with CARE-7 leadership committee to support curriculum development and initial rollout to the Perelman School of Medicine.
Assist CARE-7 leadership with program evaluation, assessment, and ongoing management, including evaluation of faculty, student feedback, and curriculum assessment.
Coordinate with clinical leaders to implement immersive experiences in hospice and palliative medicine.
Coordinate with CARE-7 leadership to manage logistics around student communication sessions using VitalTalk simulated patients and PSOM standardized patients.
Ensure appropriate planning, timely communication, and smooth logistics for the program.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
And 3+ years Program or project management experience (Required)
Familiarity with healthcare settings, academic settings, and/or quality assessment and program evaluation preferred.
