Job Description

Arnot Health is seeking a Provider Recruiter to support outpatient recruitment initiatives. This is primarily an onsite position. An ideal candidate will have healthcare recruitment experience, preferably with the recruitment of healthcare providers.

Monday - Friday, Day Shift Schedule

MAIN FUNCTION:

Works collaboratively with AOMC/AMS constituents to develop, prioritize and implement AMS recruitment initiatives for physicians and affiliated health professionals. Using a variety of modalities, sources candidates for employment by AMS, initiates contact with preferred candidates to acquaint them with employment opportunities and benefits, evaluates compatibility of candidate and group interests and develops follow-up plans. Facilitates relocation and placement activities to ensure that each new employee’s transition to employment is timely and seamless. Coordinates recruitment and placement of graduate clinical education students for medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant rotations. Reports to the Director of Provider Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

** 1. In accordance with recruiting plans initiated by AMS, works in collaborative manner to implement sourcing activities for physicians and allied health professionals.

** 2. Contacts prospective candidates for permanent and locum tenens placement to acquaint them with the Elmira area and Arnot Ogden Medical Center/AMS. Provides specific details about the local medical community and the practice opportunity that the provider is being considered for including the practice setting, clinical resources, employment contracts, compensation, and benefits.

** 3. Maintains a database that accurately reflects current status of recruiting agreements and individual candidates to facilitate timely and accurate response and follow-up.

** 4. Continually evaluates recruiting strategies and procedures to maximize positive outcomes. Contributes to the development of all recruitment advertising, promotions and marketing literature.

** 5. Attends job fairs, professional meetings, and residency events as appropriate.

** 6. Prior to offer of a job interview, ensures organizational compliance with all aspects of AMS Policies and Procedures regarding pre-employment credentialing. Responsible for coordinating the development and presentation of employment offers with follow-up as appropriate.

** 7. Develops and participates in implementation of site visit itineraries for prospective candidates to ensure that they develop an accurate, positive impression of the practice opportunity for which they are being considered and lifestyle amenities in the Elmira/Corning area.

8. Contributes to the coordination of provider on-boarding process including relocation, and orientation. 9. Works collaboratively with the AOMC Medical Staff office to ensure that license and privilege requests are submitted promptly and expedited to ensure timely issuance of staff privileges. 10. Works collaboratively with the AOMC Human Resources office to ensure that benefit education and enrollment processes are implemented in a timely and effective manner.

** 11. Is responsible for recruitment and placement of 18-20 concurrent graduate clinical education students (ie. NPs / PAs / MS 3&4) with Arnot Health providers; including initial credentialing, identification of preceptor, pre-placement orientation, and scheduling and coordination of clinical rotations and student evaluation.

12. Communicates with clinical education coordinators at colleges and universities to ensure compliance with all Arnot Health policies for graduate clinical education. 13. Provides guidance and direction to the recruitment and credentialing assistants. 14. Contributes to the development of the annual recruitment budget. 15. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position. 16. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer’s needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Medical Center. 17. **A.D.A. Essential Functions

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business is required.

Five years’ relevant experience in recruiting is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrated familiarity with medical practice dynamics, recruiting and contract development, as well as exceptional organizational, customer service and communication skills (written and verbal), are required.

Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs is required.

The successful candidate must be goal oriented, able to manage time and work activities effectively with minimal supervision, and able to work as a member of a highly integrated team.

Three years’ progressively responsible experience in these areas is strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Typical office duties: Lifting 10 lbs. regularly, and occasionally lifting 25 lbs.

EXPOSURE:

Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
