Position: Website Content Developer

Location: Remote

Duration :3+ months

Pay Rate: $40/hr - $43/hr on W2

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Website Content Developer to work under the direction of a Harvard client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web content creation and a proven ability to engage users through clear and effective communication. This role involves writing, editing, and developing compelling website content that motivates users to frequently access the site for valuable information and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Development:

Write and edit content that promotes new programs, services, or offerings.

Develop clear explanations of policies, processes, and procedures to reduce customer service burdens on Harvard departments or programs.

Create engaging help text, self-service prompts, FAQs, blog posts, catalog entries, profiles, stories, and announcements.

Content Migration and Management:

Migrate large volumes of content to new information architectures, websites, or web publishing platforms.

Restructure or rewrite existing content for greater clarity and effectiveness, adhering to provided style guides as necessary.

Keyword and tag content using provided taxonomies to enhance searchability.

User Engagement and Feedback:

Gather user feedback to identify areas for content improvement and enhancement.

Analyze website usage statistics and search logs to inform and adjust content strategies.

SEO and Best Practices:

Employ understanding and proven skills in writing effective, searchable, and scannable content tailored for web users.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in web content writing and development.

Strong understanding of SEO principles and content management systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to analyze data to inform content strategy.

Familiarity with content migration processes and information architecture.

Experience with user feedback mechanisms and content improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an academic or higher education environment.

Familiarity with web analytics tools and content management platforms.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
