TITLE: Administrative Assistant - National Board Certification Support
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma with courses in keyboarding, computer operations and business education. Associate Degree level education is preferred.Working knowledge of complex office procedures and the operations of common office equipment including personal computers and related software including personal desktop and related base, spreadsheets and advanced word.Eight years of experience as a secretary or administrative assistant.Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Teaching and Learning / Supervisor of Human Resources
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth efficient operation of the Curriculum Department and Human Resources Office. The designated scope of work is related directly to supporting both departments on clerical and administrative duties as well as special assignments and projects to support teachers pursuing National Board Certification.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs often complex office routines, duties and special projects associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly-run office.Schedules and coordinates the work of assigned clerical and/or operational staff, as well as assigned administrators.Assumes responsibility for the independent and effective completion and/or implementation of special projects of a sensitive nature such as the design and development of publications, community and media relations, event planning and management, special program planning and management, etc.Screen telephone calls, correspondence, staff and visitors and implements the policies, procedures and directives of assigned administrator(s) in a manner consistent with Board policy and regulatory requirements.Assures the maintenance of an attractive and comfortable work area.Types and produces documents, reports and correspondence using computer software for word processing, desk-top publishing and spreadsheets.Assists other members of the management and the secretarial team in preparing administrative and/or instructional materials as required.Consistently presents a positive image of the school district and maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.Performs other duties as required including but not limited to typing, photocopying, filing and such other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
