A progressive, academic health system in central New York, major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking a general ophthalmologist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Established group of 6 ophthalmologist and 3 optometristsCurrent pediatric ophthalmologist is planning to retire and has a combined general/pediatric practiceA brand-new eye clinic is being constructed and is expected to open in early 2025Current need is for a general ophthalmologist who can perform both cataract and pediatric eye surgeriesCurrent group has pediatric, retina and glaucoma specialistsSupport staff consists of ophthalmic technicians, LPNs, and RNs and are well trainedOn call is every 6th weekend, from Cooperstown, and rarely busyOutreach clinics are attended by all ophthalmologists but are limited to only one location eachThere is no NICU coverage requiredReferral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well establishedSalary plus performance-based compensationSalary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standardsSign-on Bonus up to $100,000Group Employed Model
