Description
Manage the annual open enrollment process to ensure plan changes are configured in the HRIS system and fully tested.
Implement approved new plans or changes to existing plans by preparing announcement materials, plan summary documents and other media for communicating plans to employees.
Conduct employee meetings during open enrollment , prepare staff for supporting design, development and delivery of benefit plan communications.
Maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.
Support Total Rewards executive in developing benefit plan strategies, managing plan design and RFP projects and managing benefit plan vendor relationships.
Evaluates and compares existing benefit plans with those of other employers by analyzing data through affiliated associations (e.g., CHA, SHRM), subscribed benefit surveys in partnership with Compensation and other sources of market information.
Develop specifications for new plans and/or modifications to existing plans to: Maintain competitive position in our Arkansas labor markets, and align benefit plan design and costs to organization wide strategic priorities and budget.
Assure organization compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Supervise preparation of reports and applications to regulatory agencies.
Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report suggested changes to management.
Prepare and execute benefits documentation. Instruct insurance carriers , trustees and other administrative agencies to effect changes in benefits programs. Ensures prompt and accurate compliance.
Develops benefit information, statistical and census data for actuaries, internal legal department, insurance carriers and management.
Manage Benefit team members by setting performance goals, evaluate performance, provide guidance on career development plans, ensure processes are followed and process changes are updated, assign work responsibilities and ensure team members are equipped with the tools they need to perform their assigned tasks effectively.
Establish a One Team approach in working with other departments within Total Rewards and across the Human Resources organization, contributing to process improvement, culture and engagement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
