Role overview
CarGurus is looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer, specializing in JavaScript, to join our skunkworks team focusing on generative AI. The team is exploring the use of generative AI at CarGurus. We are seeking an experienced, engaged, and experimental engineer who can use generative AI to transform the car shopping experience for our users. Additionally, we collaborate with the rest of the Engineering organization to support the use of generative AI. We are constantly coming up with new ideas, experimenting, and evolving our roadmap as technology rapidly evolves.What you'll doVery closely collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to focus on and solve customer problemsWork in fast-paced and experimental environment where you'll be frequently evaluating and comparing different solutionsCollaborate with your colleagues on architecture designsWhat you'll bringDemonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and ReactExperience with Node.js and frameworks such as Remix, Next.js, and Express, or with OpenAI or other large language models are a plusProficient at developing well-structured web applicationsKnowledge of CI/CD pipelinesDeep understanding of design patternsSelf-led, capable of working with little directionSkilled communicator with a collaborative spirit
