Overview
HILGARTWILSON, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Civil Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to become a part of our growing company. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, be a good problem solver, be efficient, pay good attention to detail, and be a team player. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley's largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects.
Responsibilities
Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies.Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines.Coordination with Cad Techs and other design team members.Design small, basic projects or perform task oriented design of more complex projects.Research and conform to applicable city/agency design guidelines, codes and checklists.Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints.Layout developments based on conceptual site plans.Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis.Prepare drainage calculations.Assist with preparation of feasibility studies.Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design.Perform various other design tasks under the direction others.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.0 to 4 years of experience in civil engineering design.An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment.Experience in land development or site/commercial preferred.Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling.Capable of preparing design on most projectPossess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
