Digital Systems department at NIO is responsible for building highly reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and platforms for intelligent and fully autonomous driving vehicles, and its scope ranges from vehicle operating system software platform, central computer and SOA-based digital architecture, automation simulation test platforms, cyber security, vehicle cloud & connectivity.

A primary mission of Digital Systems North America R&D Center is to lead the research and development of industry-leading operating systems for autonomous driving vehicles (NVOS - NIO Vehicle Operating System) from the ground up. This is an opportunity to solve a wide range of technical challenges, such as automating and instrumenting software that deeply evaluates embedded software.

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Staff / Sr Software Developer Engineer in Test in North America R&D Center to help accelerate bringing a perfect experience in the eyes of NIO's users.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and actively participate in the test automation of a simulation system.Create and implement a robust test framework to enhance test capabilities, scalability, and facilitate diagnosis and troubleshooting.Collaborate with SCRUM teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality, functional safe compliant solutions.Draft specifications, test plans, and user instructions for both test equipment and test software.Conduct thorough analysis to identify and address test failures during the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) process.Qualifications

BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent5+ years of experience in Test design and automation for embedded systemsExcellent experience in Python & C Programing, bash scriptingProficient usage of GitAbility to successfully and effectively work within a global team environmentCustomer advocacy, strong sense of ownership regarding tasks and responsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications

Experience with Docker, Jenkins and GitlabExperience in KVM virtualization, qemu and libvirtExperience in Python , C Language , Bash scriptingExperience with different HW MCALsExperience with FreeRTOS SafeRTOSExperience with functional safety ISO-26262 standard requirementsExperience with communication protocols such as ETH, TCP/IPCAN/LIN networks, including Linux can-utils, Python libraries: python-can, CAN toolsAdvanced knowledge of Linux OS InternalsAdded advantage

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,500.00 - $212,400.00.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only. It does not include discretionary bonus, equity, or benefits.
