The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Pediatrics- has an exciting opportunity for a Database Analyst 1 to work in Miami.
The Database Analyst analyzes data from various databases and develops scheduling and utilization reports. The incumbent also creates relevant reporting tools, such as dashboards and balanced scorecards. An employee in this position leads projects and serves as a liaison to various internal units, teams, committees, and external vendors. Moreover, the Database Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining databases for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Sickle Cell Research program. The incumbent in this position will manage the design and development of database applications.
Core Responsibilities:Performs a variety of data analytics to support the needs, goals, and objectives of the institution.Formulates term-specific, ad hoc, and trending reports.Develops and models inventory and supply and demand analysis.Analyzes information in reports to support the department's planning needs, goals, and objectives.Develops groupings of statistical reports.Collaborates with staff and web-development team to develop and implement improved reporting tools.Provides feedback to and works cooperatively with scheduling software vendors.Designs, develops, and maintains a dashboard of key information and balanced scorecards.Develops procedures for input to the database by analyzing variables and optimizing algorithms to maximize utilization in assigned area.Will be responsible for monitoring quality of information in software systems to achieve research quality and ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines.Participates in the organization and presentation of information systems to demonstrate best practices.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Department Specific Functions:
The Database Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining databases for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Sickle Cell Research program. The incumbent in this position will manage the design and development of database applications.Assist Principal Investigator, including other support staff to meet designated deliverables by retrieving and collecting data from program's research activities.Will be responsible for monitoring quality of information in software systems to achieve research quality and ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines.Maintains statistics and records at present for the specified research programs.Compiles information and tables for regular reports concerning research aims and deliverables.Assist physicians, nurses, and outreach staff members with continual quality assurance activities.Formulate data entry procedures and assist research remote data capture transmissions.Provide technical support for database environment (including security, system backups, and troubleshooting), as necessary, as well as technical assistance for project staff.Create and update appropriate data entry forms, including transfers between different any other applications.Adhere to principles of confidentiality and privacy, as required by State statutes and HIPAA regulations.Other duties as outlined by Principal Investigator.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in relevant fieldMinimum 3 years of relevant experienceDatabase Training certificate preferredAbility to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
