Zoox seeks an experienced IT Platform Manager to lead and expand our Compute, Storage, and Cloud teams. This role is critical for supporting Zoox's robotic and AI initiatives, which depend on cutting-edge, petabyte-scale storage systems and strategic cloud computing solutions. The ideal candidate will drive the development and implementation of infrastructure roadmaps, ensure efficient project management, and foster a collaborative culture within the organization. This role will encompass overseeing the development and maintenance of our critical IT infrastructure, cloud environments, high-performance computing, virtualization, storage solutions services, with a particular focus on petabyte-scale storage systems vital for our cutting-edge robotics and AI research.
In this role, you will:
Lead, mentor, and grow the IT Platform Compute, Storage, and Cloud teamsCollaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute storage and cloud roadmaps that meet Zoox's functional, scalability, and reliability requirementsOversee the management and successful delivery of multiple strategic and tactical projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timely execution, and adherence to budget constraintsContinuously assess and re-prioritize initiatives to ensure operational effectiveness and strategic alignmentManage incident responses with a strong operational focus, ensuring the continuity and availability of critical servicesQualifications:
5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.Proven experience in incident management and operations, focusing on delivering scalable, highly available services.Extensive experience managing large-scale cloud services and enterprise storage solutions.Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Expertise with VMware, AWS, and high-performance computing environments.Familiarity with object and distributed storage systems such as S3, Lustre/FSX, and Ceph is preferred.Bonus Qualifications:
Experience with GPU and AI workloadsBackground in high-performance computing environments
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: pay, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The pay range for this position is $229,000 to $288,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The pay range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
