DescriptionThe Manhattan Strategy Group LLC (MSG) in Bethesda, MD, is seeking a training and technical assistance (TTA) specialist to support the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This position will entail providing consultation to SAMHSA and State Opioid treatment Authorities (SOTAs) as well as training and technical assistance in substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment programs.The ideal candidate will be familiar with Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 8 and evidence-based SUD and OUD treatment modalities. This position is remote in the United States
Job Responsibilities/Duties
Provide TTA virtually, over the phone, in person, and via e-mail to SOTAs and OTPs on Title 42 CFR Part 8, SUD, OUD, quality treatment programs and barriers to care, behavioral health workforce issues, and medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).Conduct needs assessments, environmental scans, and literature reviews to inform TTA plans, resource development and creation, curriculum development, meeting agendas, and other ancillary materials.Research, write, and implement TTA plans. Provide written summary reports on TTA plans and activities.Support the development and delivery of educational training sessions, workshops, and virtual meetings for OTP staff and stakeholders.Collaborate with MOUD/OTP organizations, associations, and experts to create resources, respond to TTA requests, and build partnerships.Contribute to the development of newsletters, news briefs, training modules, templates, infographics, web-based products, and other materials. Write content for materials and publications as directed under tight deadlines and time constraints using accepted standards such as SAMHSA style and plain language tenets.Maintain and grow a database of qualified, approved subject matter experts with backgrounds in SUD, MOUD, behavioral health, health equity, access and barriers to care and other related topics.Provide administrative support across the team including coordinating and contributing to standard program reports, creating agendas and writing notes for client and internal meetings, and coordinating schedules and deadlines.Attend federal and non-federal meetings and conferences as a representative of the SAMHSA OTP contract.Staff exhibit booths and support logistic requirements as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with SUD treatment, OUD treatment, mental health, or public health emphasis with a minimum of 3 years' experience in one of the following related disciplines: behavioral health, SUD treatment, or public healthKnowledge of Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 8 and evidence-based SUD and OUD treatment modalitiesDemonstrated experience adhering to deadlines and producing error-free workAbility to work efficiently in a remote setting and adapt to working with peers across multiple time zonesDemonstrated ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, problem-solve independently, and respond quickly to changing priorities while meeting deadlinesDemonstrated customer service or relationship building skills and abilities; strong commitment to client satisfactionAbility to work at a standard computer setup for 40+ hours per week with or without accommodations; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookOutstanding organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFreedom to travel up to 20 percent of timeKnowledge of Federal government and program contracting regulations preferredEEO Statement
