Job Description Summary#TeamAAM is looking for a Materials Manager to join our Metal Forming team at our Fraser Manufacturing Facility!

The Materials Manager manages and oversees Supply Chain Management (SCM) programs and systems to ensure the efficient movement of all direct and indirect inventory. They ensure the most cost effective, efficient, and safe method of transportation for products and services. They also manage and oversee planning, scheduling, transportation, data integrity, trade compliance, and material handling for the Fraser Manufacturing Facility. This individual will develop and implement plans to meet or exceed key SCM objectives such as customer delivery, inventory management, and inventory accuracy. They will also develop and maintain local SCM policies and procedures.

Job DescriptionLeads material handling team by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and disciplining associates; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring; adhering to policies and procedures.Achieves materials management operational objectives preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining materials management system improvements; implementing change.Meets materials management financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.Meets forecasts and current orders by overseeing production planning and scheduling systems; optimizing labor, equipment, and inventory resources; examining and resolving schedule deviations and problems.Manages inventory by identifying and maintaining optimum inventory and cost levels based on PFEP inventory recommendations.Stores and ships product by enforcing warehousing policies and procedures; implementing inventory movement systems; maintaining transportation and shipping procedures; examining and resolving delays.Maintains safe and secure work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.Provides management control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.Oversees API, customs, data integrity, cycle counting, and material handling floor activities.Builds a relationship with our trading partners.Adheres to all safety requirements and demonstrates S4 principles in daily job duties.All other duties as assigned.Required Skills and EducationBachelor's degree (preferably in Supply Chain Management).3+ years of experience in a supervisory role.2+ years of experience scheduling and coordinating the efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer demand in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 environment.Operating knowledge of the Plexus system and ERP systems.Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes (such as Kaizen, Lean manufacturing concepts, and pull systems), daily operations, material handling, quality criteria, safety and human resource issues.Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others; including, but not limited to, all levels of management, associates, and customers.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED:Manufacturing/machining and assembly experience in the automotive industry.Experience in a union environment.About AAM:As a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, AAM designs, engineers and manufactures Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles.
