The Federal Sr. Tax Associate is responsible for timely and accurate preparation of federal and state income and franchise tax returns; monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740); quarterly estimated tax and extension; supporting documentation for federal and state audits; and other ad hoc projects as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare the federal and state income and franchise tax returns, quarterly estimates and extensions for the consolidated group, including assistance with the annual R&D credit. Prepare the company's monthly, quarterly and annual income tax provision computation and tax account reconciliation. Correspond with federal, state and local taxing authorities to resolve tax notices. Assist in gathering information and preparing workpapers necessary for any federal and state audits. Perform tax research, proactively monitor legislative changes and model tax outcomes for analysis. Perform other duties as they arise. Knowledge & Skills OneSource income tax compliance software knowledge required. Strong experience in ASC 740 preferred. Checkpoint, BNA Tax Research or similar online tax research engine knowledge preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint) required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate matters effectively with all levels of staff. High standards of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Able to multi-task and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, strong sense of accountability, and desire for self-growth. Exceptional analytical skills. Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience Must be at least 18 years of age Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or Taxation is required. CPA required. Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate tax experience in industry or public accounting. ERP system experience (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion) preferred. Work Environment This is largely a sedentary role. This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Typically requires travel 5-15% of the time. This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado; California; Connecticut; Montana, Maine or New York.
