Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This individual should be a skilled and experienced Engineer who will participate in internal and external audits, and the timely and effective execution of any resulting actions, or Lead Solve by Sundown investigations, as needed. Incumbent will also be a resource for ISO9001:2015 Manager.
Ideal candidate will have: Lean manufacturing experience in a high-speed facility
Responsible for but not limited to:Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty)Lead Supplier Quality Management. Work with Purchasing and Suppliers to improve overall QualityCollect, analyze, and explain data to broader teamMultitask and "complete the loop" of root cause and communicate ?ndingsUse Lean tools to problem solve(5-Why, 8D, Similar)Initiate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues and communicate ?ndingsCompose work instructions and inspection procedures for various processesPoint of contact for non-conforming products/investigationsParticipate in corrective action discussions to improve quality, manufacturability, and costParticipate in Continuous Improvement programCommunicate Quality Alerts through PowerPoint PresentationsDevelop Cost SavingsBe Hands on, Work on Shop Floor Daily with hot and cold conditions
Required Skills/Abilities:Strong computer skills in MS Office. ISO knowledge is a plusExperience with Lean ManufacturingPrevious Quality and Manufacturing experienceAbility to effectively communicate across all levels, from contractors to the boardroomAbility to gather, analyze and present quality-related data through presentations and verbal/written communicationSelf- starter with the ability to work independently with minimal daily directionEnjoys the challenges of manufacturing engineering, with a focus on uptime, root cause analysis, team building, cycle times, one-piece ?ow, and value stream mappingAbility to make decisions and knows where to focus their efforts to improve processes and motivate teams
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical engineering, or 5 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing facilities.Experience in a Fluid Packaging Facility (HDPE bottles/pails/caps, Corrugate, Stretch Wrap, Date Coders, Box Formers, etc.) a plus.Experience in a high speed, multitasking and fast paced environment.
