Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MDJob Description:Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate Trauma Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic trauma team. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and challenging environment, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to manage critically injured patients.Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive assessments of trauma patients, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering/interpretation of diagnostic tests.Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with trauma surgeons, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals.Provide advanced clinical care, including wound management, suturing, and other procedures as necessary.Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient response.Participate in trauma resuscitation and provide support in emergency situations.Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, treatment options, and post-discharge care.Collaborate with the trauma team to ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and trauma research projects.Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP).Minimum of 3 years of experience in trauma or critical care.Advanced clinical skills in trauma care, including procedural skills and emergency management.Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Trauma Nursing (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.Bilingual proficiency.
Working Conditions:Full-time position with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and high-stress situations.
