Chief Transformation Officer, Community Medical CenterJob Overview:The Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) is a physician leader focused on quality improvement and care efficiency for Community Medical Center (CMC). The CTO will partner with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer (COO), physician community, hospital nursing, and inpatient clinical staff to develop and drive process improvements designed to enhance and improve clinical quality and patient experience and reduce healthcare costs. The CTO leads quality improvement efforts to achieve top clinical and patient-centered outcomes that set the standard in healthcare delivery and innovation.Reports to:The Chief Transformation Officer will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CMC.Qualifications:M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification required. An advanced degree in healthcare or business administration or other advanced management degree is preferred. The CTO must be eligible for a New Jersey medical license.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience leading clinical performance improvement, change management, quality, and patient safety initiatives in an acute-care hospital setting. Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice in his/hers/their specialty. Prior experience operating within a matrixed organization strongly preferred.Experience with physician relations and an appreciation for working within and understanding the dynamics of a mixed-model medical staff (employed, leased and independent).Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing the delivery of healthcare across the continuum of care services, medical group management, accountable care models, population health, analytics, and electronic medical record optimization.Ability to analyze and use information systems to quickly recommend opportunities for optimization; and experience in a competitive healthcare marketplace with the aptitude to make complex and difficult decisions.Essential Functions:Serve as a physician leader for continuous quality improvement, safety, and effective clinical resource management.Drive greater performance and foster system thinking and collaboration to continuously improve clinical quality and safety metrics and publicly reported data (i.e. Leapfrog, CMS Star Rating, etc.)Ensure the highest healthcare delivery and outcomes standards including zero preventable harm while maintaining and integrating high reliability organization principles.Promote a data-driven environment of quality and cost improvement and develop systems to analyze utilization of resources and objectively measure outcomes of care.Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop annual plans for targeted quality, efficiency, and clinical staff cultural transformation goals.Partner with the CMO to develop, implement and drive strategies to achieve strong quality and patient safety results including infection control and all performance improvement initiatives.Partner with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), CMO and COO to improve clinical throughput and operational processes associated with delivering excellent clinical care.Allocate adequate resources and implement an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality-of-care services delivered to patients. Ensure that services are provided with respect to quality, patient and stakeholder requirements, and efficiency.Serve as the clinical expert for the development and implementation of the hospital s Community Health Needs Assessment. Advise on clinical service shortfalls that the community needs.In partnership with the COO, establish a plan to address resource allocation and operational performance as measured by quality, service, cost, and growth.Collaborate with hospital leadership and medical staff to develop, implement, and/or improve clinical systems and technology to enhance existing services and care.Promote physician engagement, maintain strong physician relations and provide support services to physicians. Lead the Physician Prescriptive Plan (PPP) for Physician Communication and track provider compliance.Partner with the CMO to develop provider accountability for rounding, case management planning, and improved communication and responsiveness to nursing and patient requests.
