More About the Role:
CACI’s Advanced Systems Group is looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Space Systems Development Team. Are you interested in working on hardware/software design and architectures? As a motivated systems engineer on this growing program you will lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of space payload and ground systems. You will make proactive recommendations and advise on system improvements, automation, and risk management. You will work together with clients and your teammates in a fast-paced environment creating mission-critical space systems! Join CACI’s Space Development Team and be a part of a fast-paced, technical design team and tackle these challenges and more.
Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering Manager for Space Payload Development Team
Acting Scrum Master who manage dependencies and ensure consistency across teams
Functioning requirements manager for CACI Space Development Team (RTVM)
Lead ground/payload systems engineers, expected to architect and define/derive requirements within the realm of PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) and other space missions on the space development team
Provide systems engineering support across multiple phases of the systems engineering lifecycle to include technical planning, CONOP development, requirement analysis, system design, scheduling, system integration, verification and validation, training, cost and risk assessment
Assist with defining system & performance requirements for ground/payload applications
Liaison with architects, software/hardware SMEs, and other stakeholders; fostering quality communication between engineering disciplines
Lead major subsystem design reviews e.g. SRR, PDR, and CDR
Lead test and verification through all stages of integration
Required Skills:
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor’s degree (ABET/EAC Accredited) in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
7+ years of related experience in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
Experience with space vehicle/payload IV&V
Demonstrated and advanced capability in requirements and verification (including requirement engineering, requirements management, verification)
Ability to contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
Understanding of Agile software development methodologies, scrum experience
Desired Skills:
Active Security Clearance
Experience with RF, PNT payloads, and timing subsystems
Experience with Space Payload Systems development, test and integration activities
Familiarity with mission management systems and operations
Able to lead other technical professionals to solve difficult and complex problems and issues effectively
Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency in writing documentation via Confluence or similar
Experience with Atlassian Suite tools
Understanding of Test-Driven Development
Experience with writing unit and integration tests
Understanding of observer, adapter, and other well-known design patterns
Experience in designing modern software systems
Familiarity with RedHat Linux/UNIX operating systems
Strong knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming languages
Familiarity with STAR (Speed, Time, and Range)/COSTAR (Constellation, Speed, Time, and Range) lead for navigation layer systems
Simulation/prototyping experience with software suites such at MATLAB, SIMULINK, or others
Experience with AWS services, automated integration testing services, and interface testing
Experience with cloud / on-premise cloud environments.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$102,900 - $216,200
