Position:

Project Management SpecialistLocation : Oak Ridge, TNSalary Range : $80k-$100kOverview :The Project Management Office (PMO) seeks a Project Management Specialist to contribute to project management efforts on large-scale scientific research and development projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:Support principal investigators or project directors in facilitating and coordinating project activities, project reporting, sponsor communication, and other duties as assigned by project leadership.Work with project staff to develop and maintain schedules, cost estimates, assist with risk identification, and change control.Provide day-to-day support to the project with schedule and cost maintenance and status, and forecasting and assist in generating monthly reports on project status and performance;Perform ad-hoc activities as directed by the project management mentor, principal investigator or project director;Support the project management staff in preparing for various project reviews, including internal and external project status reviews.Deliver client's mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service.Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by fostering a respectful workplace - in how we treat one another, work together, and measure success.

Qualifications Required:BS/BA in project management, business, engineering or equivalentTwo (2) years of applicable experience.Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be capable of working independently on complex tasks in support of team members.Possess advanced competence in Microsoft applications

Qualifications Desired:Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalentPossess an understanding of project management best practices and competence creating project schedules, performing resource loading, incorporating monthly status, and creating and maintaining the project baseline.Demonstrated ability of successful work in an interdisciplinary project environment and/or scientific collaboration that includes participants from academia, national laboratories, and other scientific organizations.Exceptional communications skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.

Federal Government Clearance:This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
