Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible to coordinate the export van planning of containers, Department of Defense bookings and related customer communications. Provides administrative support for the Export Operations and oversees the documentation generated and required for exporting goods.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Experience in a customer service, logistics, planning or scheduling role
Knowledge of export logistics terminology (Vessel Bookings / INCO terms)
Supervises Import/Export related activities and requirement for smooth execution of order replenishment process (customs clearance, road & sea international transportation booking) be it outsourced or in-house
Dedicated contact (business partner) for a defined set of customers for order management
Reviews orders for completeness, export compliance and company policies
Monitors orders for timely delivery and works with suppliers to expedite
Maintains orders for expediting or special ordering
Maintains holiday, OTB, special promo order files
Timely invoicing and control of additional costs
Adhere to global and local procedures and standards when handling the tasks
Set up priority to the most business critical and important issues
Determining export requirements and prepare and review required type of authorization, ensuring timely submittal to the appropriate government agency
Responsible for communication with export customers
Participate in meetings with customers
Follow up customer volumes, asking for more
Manage communication within the company, with other departments, transshipments, and discharge ports etc. to solve client’s issues
Take ownership and additional responsibility in solving day-to-day issues
Must be proficient with standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, and an email program such as Microsoft Outlook or Excel
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Strong understanding of overall supply chain strategy.
Ensure compliance with and understand domestic and international shipping requirements
Familiar with document flow for international shipping documents, Export/Import regulations Experience of import and export of chemicals will be preferred
Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office application
Team player and have the ability to work in a team environment
Detail and task oriented and ability to multi-task
Familiar with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations, policy, government relations, business or some knowledge and application of import/export trade regulations

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
