Summary:
We are seeking a Claims Administrator to join our claims department. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support by managing non-compensatory claim files (medical only, with no time loss) as well as handling liability and cargo damage files. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in ensuring efficient claims processingEssential Duties
:Use of claim system to set up and adjust claim filesAdministrative support and help desk for in house claims systemWritten and verbal communication with medical, legal and governing agencies and internal operations and claims personnelClaim intake and initial investigation and interview with claimants and key personnel and witnessesDaily written and verbal communication with union employees and non-employed individuals filing claimsEnsuring statutory compliance with US Department of Labor filings and timelines and tort statutesResearch, information gathering regarding claimsEstablish claim files electronicallyMaintain and update claims filingsMaintain up to date claim diaries and notes within claims management systemReview and audit medical bills, repair invoices, and claim filingsPrepare outgoing correspondenceReview files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requestsGather data, compile information, and prepare reportsMaintain spreadsheet and in house claims system for record keeping and analysisWork directly with claims manager remotely to handle all aspects of claims support through completion of claim file
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications):Minimum of a high school diploma or GEDClaims office background 1+ years
Preferred QualificationsLongshore or Maritime claims administration of equivalent insurance industryExcellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel and WordExcellent communication skillsWell organized, attention to detailAbility to work efficiently and resourcefully with minimal supervisionWork effectively with remote staff
