Role Summary/Purpose
The Operation Support A – Load Dispatch Electrician will install, repair, and maintain all electrical and Utilities and Facilities electrical systems and equipment. In this role you will operate equipment used in the receiving and distribution of electrical power, perform switching operations to distribute electrical power throughout the facility, and perform inspection on substations and transformers.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will:
Troubleshoot & repair equipment and building electrical systems. Maintain and repair electrical components such as motors, transformers, switch gear, rectifiers, control systems, motor control centers, shop machinery power feeds, and substations.
Run conduit, replace fuses, make new electrical gear installations, troubleshoot circuitry.
Work with schematics and wiring diagrams, order material.
Make comprehensive inspections using a variety of inspection instruments and gauges to detect malfunctions
Conduct transformer, substation, battery, and generator inspections.
Analyze and diagnose cause of malfunctions, failures, and repetitive electrical problems and recommend and implement proper corrective actions
Analyze malfunctions and execute the repair of utilities distribution control systems and install, maintain, or modify such systems
Perform Utilities and equipment maintenance, as needed
Plan, layout, rig, move, erect, and install complex equipment and machinery, overhead cranes, etc.
Repair, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems at heights and in confined spaces
Administer site wide electrical distribution Lock Out Tag Out
Keep work areas and equipment clean and operating safely
Train others, as necessary
Participate in and own Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives and performance throughout the plant
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve quality and product flow
Participate in lean initiatives, using 6 Sigma tools for process improvements
Identify and implement Kaizens for continuous improvement
Qualifications/Requirements
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline
Certified training and equivalent experience (Journeyman’s card)
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends
Desired Characteristics
· Experience in medium voltage repair work and switching (660V-115kV)
· Minimum 4 years of industry related experience
· Experience in the Mechanical and Electrical fields
The base pay range for this position is $31.33 to $35.96 per hour with a $5.28 per hour transition adder. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
