Working cross functionally with operating business units and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization this position is a key role in providing financial guidance and insight to the business. The role's key focus is on driving financial performance through the volume adjusted budgeting process, accurate forecasting and providing financial analytical insight.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Translate operational changes into a financial forecast with a focus on accuracy and insightResponsible for the financial performance of several operational business unitsBuild partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior operations leadersProactively identify and resolve complex issuesProvide leadership to a group of Specialists and Analysts, coaching and developing future leadersResponsibility for the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process for all teams, this involves a high level of communication and collaboration with numerous groupsResponsibility for continually improving reporting and analysis, using all available systems to further automate key reportsWork closely with the operations to understand how the business operates, and identify opportunities for improved financial performance, driving financial accountabilityWork closely with Revenue Business Partners and reporting to translate revenue changes into expense forecast updates and budgetCoordinate and review timely reporting to executive team on financial performance, outlooks and financial targetsBe a positive force for change, always looking for opportunity to partner with the operations teams to continually improve the company's financial performancePOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or other relevant fields required5+ years in a Finance related role, preferably with an operational focus3+ years of experience supervising a group of Finance professionalsExperience with SAP or similar ERP systemsExcel modelling skillsDemonstrated ability to coach and mentorExperience influencing senior leadership up to the EVP levelWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension planEmployee Share Purchase PlanPerformance Incentive ProgramAnnual Fitness SubsidyPart-time Studies ProgramADDITIONAL INFORMATION:As an employer with national presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.Background Investigation:The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances:Criminal history checkReference checkManagement Conductor Program:Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC.
