S&ME is seeking an experienced individual
who specializes in geotechnical and/or construction materials testing projects to join our growing team in Wilmington, NC.
Whether you're a mid-level professional, engineer, or a senior project manager, our adaptable team provides ample room for growth, enabling you to advance professionally while working on some of the most impactful projects across the eastern coast. There is significant growth opportunity to advance into operational leadership for the right individual. What We Are Looking For: If you have extensive experience managing construction materials testing or geotechnical projects, enjoy mentoring staff to ensure the highest level of quality and compliance with industry standards, we want to hear from you. Our Wilmington location staff has doubled in size over the past year, reflecting our thriving and expanding operations. We are looking for the right individual to collaborate with leadership, our clients, and project teams in both service lines leading our projects and teams to success. Project Management:
Leading and managing small to large projects, including complex, dynamic Construction Materials Testing and Geotechnical projects, providing your technical expertise, and overseeing every phase, including budgeting, scheduling, and project deadlines. Client Engagement : Engaging closely with clients to grasp their unique project needs and going the extra mile to ensure their utmost satisfaction. Revenue Growth and Networking : Cultivating a robust local client base and expanding your professional network to drive revenue growth that aligns with our ambitious financial goals. Development Leadership : Taking the lead in local and regional business development endeavors, amplifying our presence through strategic marketing efforts. Proposals and Reports : Reviewing and crafting proposals and reports of all sizes and complexity tailored to project specifications, industry standards, and client preferences. Mentorship : Nurturing and guiding a team of skilled professionals, project managers, and field-based personnel, fostering their growth.
About You: You have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field You have 8+ years of combination of performing testing and/or managing Geotechnical, Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections projects You have 4+ years of experience in a project manager or leadership role You have a strong working knowledge of applicable ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical recommendations
