Job Description
Coolant Technology Development is seeking a Data Scientist to join a team dedicated to supporting the US NAVY and specializing in chemistry and chemical engineering. This position involves collecting and transforming data from the Naval Nuclear fleet for analytics and performing evaluations and analyses with that data. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing, refining, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, building predictive models to characterize various systems, presenting in-depth analysis in a clear and concise manner with a data-oriented approach to problem solving and decision making. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for recommending data science solutions that modernize engineering decisions and developing, testing, and deploying artificial intelligence and machine learning models. Work may include chemical and materials evaluations, design reviews, operational support, safety analysis, engineering methods and software development, and analysis of vendor's procedures and systems for quality control. Advancing the state of the art and application of these methods has the potential to significantly reduce program costs and may also support life-time performance assessments of power plant components.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of six years of relevant experience. Master of Science or higher in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of four years of relevant experience. PhD in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
The successful candidate may have some but not all of the following skills and experience which complement the group's current experience and align with its strategic objectives. - Good scripting and programming skills, experience in Python and R. - Experience with data visualization packages, such as Tableau and Rstudio. - Experience in developing, testing and deploying artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science solutions. - Proficiency in working with databases. - Experience performing statistical analysis and projected trending from operating and test data. - Project management - Leadership and teamwork with examples of good collaborative efforts - Written and verbal communications

Pay Range $103,100.00 - $161,100.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
