Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Des Moines, IA. The selected candidate will be responsible for technical analysis, translating requirements into a proposed design, and assisting in the development and implementation of assigned features.
Actual Job Location: 132 WG Air National Guard Base in Des Moines, Iowa
Responsibilities Include:
Installation, support, and maintenance of program mission network servers, computer equipment and connection of peripherals.
Configuring software, modifying software configuration, and performing basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements to include JSIG.
Planning for and responding to service outages and other problems.
Working as part of project team in design and integration of OTTI (Operational Training and Test Infrastructure) technologies and program solutions to meet mission requirements.
Providing software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications and M&S tools.
Supporting HBSS And SIEM solutions and continuous monitoring.
Implementing client workstations software patches, security fixes and service releases.
Identifying, analyzing, and documenting long range requirements.
Maintaining general knowledge of different Operating Systems such as Windows and different types of Linux (IGEL, Ubuntu, Etc.) are required
Maintaining general knowledge of Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) software and Powershell
Basic Qualifications:
Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of IT experience; Master's degree with 0 years of IT experience
Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of IT experience; Master's degree with 3 years of IT experience;
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
Security + certification
Certifiable knowledge of PC operations in Linux and Windows NT based operating systems
Experience configuring software, modifying software configuration and performing basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements
Experience with operating systems and relational database management systems such as SQL Server
Experience managing Storage Arrays, file and Virtual Machine backups
Experience updating and patching Windows and Linux Operating Systems and software applications in an off-line environment.
Experience building and updating Virtual Desktop Interface technologies, VMware, MS Windows and Linux, physical computers, virtual machines and working LAN experience
Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
Linux administrator experience, and/or Certified Linux admin training
DISA ACAS Training/Certified
General working knowledge of Powershell and Scripting
Salary Range: $68,500 - $102,700
Salary Range 2: $84,200 - $126,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
