Position Summary:
The University at Buffalo (UB) Office of Residential Facilities (https://www.buffalo.edu/campusliving.html) ( UBRF ) is seeking a candidate to fill a part-time Cleaner role within Residential Custodial Services. The successful candidate is one who takes pride in their work, is driven and reliable. They are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction while ensuring exceptional personal interactions with UB students, customers, colleagues and guests.
As a Cleaner, your responsibilities include:
Collect and empty trash, recyclables, and dispose of waste.
Wash and clean floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes and other cleaning devices.
Vacuum, strip and wax floors and shampoo carpets as appropriate.
Scrub and clean showers and lavatories daily.
Replace light bulbs, and dust/wash light fixtures and high places.
Clean and disinfect public areas, lounges, halls and weight rooms.
Move furniture and equipment in connection to cleaning activities, meeting and/or special event set up/take down.
Interact with students, parents, departmental and University staff, as well as outside contractors and vendors.
The incumbent should be a self-starter and able to accept and follow-through precisely on written and verbal direction, consistently use good judgement, and able to work independently and as part of a team. They should have genuine interest in, and regard for students, parents, and all others by providing a high level of service in a diverse and ever-evolving workplace.
