We are recruiting for a Linux Administrator for an exciting, growing mission! The Linux Administrator will maintain and improve the existing Linux environment. This includes responsibility for the operating system software and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software across the organization.Responsibilities
Planning, testing, installing, integrating, and maintaining new and upgraded versions of the relevant operating systems
Building and hardening Linux servers, and establishing configuration baselinesApplying all appropriate security and firmware patches in a timely manner, and assisting in creating, maintaining, and adhering to the organization's patch management plansDeveloping test plans and procedures; testing and integrating software and hardwareManaging operating system lifecyclesEstablishing, developing, testing, staging, and operating environmentsDesigning interfaces to external systemsResearching and resolving operating system problems efficiently and accurately, while adhering to organizational standards and practicesTroubleshooting operating system problems, and collaborating with other teamsProviding technical support to other teams on requirements for integration into the operating systemMaintaining and updating documentation on the operating system configuration and all other areas of responsibilityRequired Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required #qinetiqclearedjobStrong Linux administration experience, including configuring and maintaining Linux serversExperience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentationExperience with domain account management, particularly via Centrify, LDAP, and Active DirectoryExperience applying security patches in a Linux environmentStrong shell scripting experienceAbility to manage a large, complex server environmentPreferred Qualifications
Strong Solaris administration experienceSolaris administration/engineering certification (e.g. SCSAS, etc.)Scripting experience with Ansible or similar technologies
