Job Summary The Transfer Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to transfer raw product from satellite station to a protein conversion plant. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Pick up raw materials as needed; weigh in raw material when returning to protein conversion plant. Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition. Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules. Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee. Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc). Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily. Maintain DOT log book if required. All other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age with clean MVR. Current Class A CDL holder with tanker endorsement. Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/ Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2 years' experience operating tractor trailers, preferred Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred. Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance. Works well with others in a team environment. Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed. Good math and communication skills. Physical Demands Constantly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. Occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs. Regularly required reach with hands and arms. Work Environment Job functions will be carried out in a commercial motor vehicle and plant environment.
