Primary Care ServicesFull Time80763BRJob SummaryManages the delivery of primary care nursing services and patient flow for the primary care site of UCSF Primary Care at Laurel Village. Provides and organizes clinical support for faculty, residents and nurse practitioners. Works as part of the leadership team to identify opportunities for improved practice operations. Works with all staff to develop, monitor and maintain systems pertaining to all aspects of nursing care. Maintains operations and facilities in a state of continuous readiness for regulatory inspections.

The Clinical RN Supervisor has the clinical and administrative responsibility for developing and maintaining a high standard of patient care. S/he is responsible for personnel, clinic staffing, materials resource management, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily clinical operations. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet the patient's physiological and psychological developmental level and needs. S/he will adhere to the Telephone and House Standards and Management Expectations of the Medical Center.

The Primary Care at Laurel Village Nurse Supervisor will work 100% administratively with the flexibility to perform limited clinical practice based on the operational needs of the practice.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Our doctors are experts in preventive care as well as management of chronic diseases. Our health care professionals coordinate overall care as well as treat specific conditions. They are experts in preventive medicine, health monitoring, testing and special treatment programs such as weight management and diabetes follow up, and make referrals to specialists when needed. It delivers primary care to patients as part of a larger UCSF primary care service line.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / trainingExperience as supervisor, charge nurse, or lead of RNs, LVNs and MAs or leadership experience leading teams (project team, task force, etc.) in an inpatient or outpatient settingDemonstrated skills leading teams or team processes and managing the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s). Strong knowledge of ambulatory practice operationsDemonstrated ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of a specific individual, including the patient's age: Infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatricIn depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policiesStrong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources mattersStrong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutionsStrong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, consultants, and outside agenciesStrong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, and to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise mannerPreferred QualificationsStrong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center patient carePrior work experience as a nurse lead or supervisor for at least three yearsExperience working with staff across multiple sitesExperience working with EPIC EMRMaster's Degree in NursingClinical Nurse Leader CertificateLicense/CertificationActive Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CaliforniaActive American Heart Association CPR CertificationAbout UCSFAt UCSF Health, our mission of innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research is redefining what's possible for the patients we serve - a promise we share with the professionals who make up our team.
