NSS Staff Accountant I

Primary Job Responsibilities
Active input in month-end close process for up to two Divisions/Areas. This includes posting accruals, deposit transfers/retains and clearing the intercompany account.
Analyze and provide recommendations from review of budgeted house cost versus actual house cost; work with Division Finance, Construction and Purchasing personnel.
Complete detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, including the reconciliation of cash, accounts receivable and various liability accounts in compliance with Corporate Accounting, Audit, and GAAP standards.
Facilitate fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers and related account reconciliations, inclusive of analyzing changes and ensuring integrity of results.
Complete general journal entries, including daily cash entries.
Prepare weekly cash forecasts.
Provide financial information and recommendations to the NSS Controller related to internal and external audit requests.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the NSS General Ledger Team, and the collective NSS Department.
Provide additional support for the house closing journal entries, which recognizes revenue and cost of sales, and relieve house inventory.
Attend required development training sessions as assigned throughout the year.
Other duties as assigned.
