POWER Engineers is currently seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer with experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Coumbus office located in New Albany, Ohio. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).Roles and ResponsibilitiesPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Substation P&C Design Engineer in our Columbus office located in New Albany, OhioBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) degree or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university, preferably with a power optionExperience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience in managing small project teamsExperience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrentlyEngineer in Training (EIT) registrationFive (5) or more years experience in utility substation designThe candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelCandidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/ExperienceProfessional Engineering license (PE)Experience in 230kV through 500kV substation design a plusAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
