AECOM

is seeking a Construction Manager within the Aviation Sector to be based in San Francisco, CA.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Provide management, administration, and oversight of Project construction contract(s).

Establish a job-specific safety program with the Builder(s) and provide competent safety professionals to monitor job site safety.

Review construction work and phasing plans and make recommendations to minimize disruption to Airport operations.

Ensure construction activities/shutdowns/closures are adequately coordinated with and approved by Airport Operations, Duty Managers, and all affected parties.

Review and/or prepare construction quality assurance/quality control plans.

Provide technical, full-time, on-site quality assurance and code compliance oversight and inspection, including specialty inspections as needed, of the progress and quality of the construction work.

Monitor environmental inspection for contractor’s or builder’s compliance with environmental regulations.

Examine materials and equipment being incorporated into the work to verify that approved submittals support them, are handled, stored, and installed correctly.

Prepare inspector’s daily reports and engineer’s reports for submission to the SFO.

Manage and review the submission of samples, shop drawings, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and other submittals for contract and code compliance. The Contractor shall maintain a log of all submittals.

Identify problems encountered in accomplishing the construction work and recommend appropriate action to SFO to resolve issues with a minimum effect on the Project's timely completion.

Provide all testing, including specialty testing, as required by the latest FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370 and the Airport. The Contractor shall coordinate and/or procure the services of certified testing laboratories to assure that the proper number and type of tests are being performed in a timely manner.

Maintain a log of any requests for information and manage responses for approval by the Airport Project Manager and/or the Engineer-of-Record.

Review progress pay requests for accuracy and recommend approval. The Contractor shall prepare all supporting documentation for progress pay requests, including but not limited to, certified payroll tracking forms. All payment documentation shall utilize Airport standard templates through Primavera Unifier.

Review Builder reports, as-built drawings, and other construction documentation and ensure information is appropriately captured in Airport records.

Qualifications:Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

Civil PE is preferred, but not required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project or Construction Management;

Previous aviation construction project management experience preferred;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to obtain a SIDA-cleared badge at the airport, and be able to obtain certification to drive in the AOA movement area

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation (California only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $134,000 - $220,000.
