The Performance and Readiness Division of Leidos is currently looking for a Research Program Manager to support the Diagnostics and Surveillance Department, Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD.

The Research Program Manager will perform duties and help maintain the operations of the Department, which conducts basic through advanced research to support the detection, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases of military significance.

Primary Responsibilities.

The ideal candidate shall:

Gather and distill information for research program taskers

Develop and formulate fiscal year budget and grant requests for research

Prepare documentation for contract actions and proposals and ensure completion in accordance with established policies and procedures

Perform various research related administrative tasks and manage/track purchasing processes

Track study expenditures and develop reports on financial status related to research

Maintain and organize Government prepared research documents

Provide recommendations on labor/manpower utilization and workflow to increase efficiency and productivity

Perform market research regarding development of study budget and provide to Government for decision-making

Coordinate and develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in accordance with sponsor guidelines and templates

Assist Government personnel in initiating and maintaining regularly IACUC or IRB requirements as needed

Ensure Government prepared documentation is available for various research meetings

Provide support in the performance of various management duties related to the coordination and execution of Government-directed professional meetings and events

Develop post-event material to include, but not limited to, meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports involving both technical and specialized scientific terminology

Supervise and lead team of research support staff to meet Department goals

Required Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in a business or scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant management experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a business or scientific discipline with 10+ years of relevant management experience is required.

Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory position with financial and schedule responsibility.

The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.

Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of IACUC/IRB requirements and procedures.

Experience supporting a military medical or clinical research laboratory.

Experience in microbiology, virology or infectious disease research is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
