Our client is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join their Launch Systems Group. This position is to backfill a departing worker with a contractor. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in systems engineering, particularly in detailed design disciplines such as Electrical Engineering (EE), Software Engineering (SW), or Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC). This role requires an active Secret Clearance and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense and weapon systems.
Responsibilities
Design and develop detailed systems engineering solutions.
Validate and verify requirements for various projects.
Plan and write test plans and procedures.
Interpret performance results against test objectives.
Utilize IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management.
Coordinate with subsystems and systems engineering teams.
Engage in continuous feedback and review cycles to ensure data product quality.
Essential Skills
5-10 years of experience in systems engineering, with 3-5 years in a detailed design discipline (EE, SW, or GNC).
3+ years of experience in Requirements Validation and Verification.
3+ years of experience in Test Planning.
3+ years of experience interpreting Unit Under Test performance results against test objectives.
Competency with IBM Rational DOORS.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
Active Secret Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
Experience in weapons systems is highly desired.
Familiarity with other scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl, or VB.
Experience with automated testing equipment.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite with no hybrid or remote work options available. The work environment includes both office settings and occasional work in testing labs. The environment is safety-sensitive and controlled, requiring the candidate to be a U.S. citizen holding an active Secret Security Clearance. The successful candidate will join a team of 24 systems engineers working on advanced defense products, including hypersonic weapons and missile defense systems.
