Union FacilityPosition Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Purchasing Manager
to lead and optimize our procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both
tactical and strategic purchasing ,
inventory management , and
manufacturing . This role also requires proven
leadership experience
and expertise in managing
service categories . The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for driving cost efficiencies, ensuring supply continuity, and leading procurement initiatives aligned with business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute
strategic sourcing
initiatives that drive cost reductions, improve quality, and support the overall business strategy.Manage day-to-day
tactical procurement
activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.Oversee
inventory management
processes to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.Collaborate with cross-functional teams in
manufacturing
to ensure timely procurement of materials and services to meet production schedules.Lead the management of
service categories , including contract negotiation, vendor selection, and performance monitoring.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and high-quality products.Implement best practices in purchasing, inventory control, and supplier management to improve operational efficiency.Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset.Analyze market trends, identify risks, and make recommendations to mitigate supply chain disruptions.Drive the use of data analytics to enhance decision-making and optimize purchasing strategies.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in
Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field ; a Master's degree or equivalent experience is a plus.5+ years
of experience in
purchasing , with a focus on
inventory management ,
manufacturing , and managing
service categories .Strong experience in both
tactical and strategic sourcing
within a manufacturing environment.Proven leadership skills with the ability to
mentor and manage a team .Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement data-driven purchasing strategies.Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain software.Preferred Experience:Experience in implementing and managing
supplier performance
and
continuous improvement
programs.Experience in
cost modeling
and
contract management .Knowledge of
Lean Manufacturing
and
Six Sigma
methodologies.
