ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We have an exciting opportunity in our finance department to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will play an active role in the month end close and financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, the desire to learn and to suggest and implement process improvements.
Complete monthly accounting activities to ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled timely for month end close.
Prepare, analyze, and review general ledger account reconciliations.
Research data within general ledger to resolve discrepancies and respond to inquiries.
Maintain fixed asset listings and depreciation schedules for various cost centers
Assist with job reporting. Tasks include: job costing, job cost transfers, and job closing
Check, verify, and process company fleet and maintenance costs.
Process intercompany charges and allocation between related companies, divisions or departments.
Update, maintain, and book rental charges for company owned tools to various jobs.
Review financial results to identify variances and trends to support critical estimates, such as accruals and reserves
Create custom reports to support financial results, publish metrics, and perform analysis using data visualization software
Collaborate with other internal teams and serve as a partner to aid in the preparation and reporting of results.
Ad hoc projects and reporting in support of finance department objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, ideally in an organization with an emphasis on project budgeting and costing procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems and experience with import/export functions within.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.
Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
