The position will lead the development of the license application, implement the licensing strategy, develop licensing programs and procedures, and assist in managing interactions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, other regulatory authorities, and industry groups.Responsibilities:* Manages and is responsible for the development and implementation of the Licensing Project Plans* Manages and is responsible for the development, execution and maintenance of the schedule for preparing and obtaining regulatory approval of licensing submittals.* Manages and is responsible for the planning, coordinating, organizing, and executing of on-going licensing activities. Also, manages and is responsible for staffing (hiring, training/coaching, performance management, time management), reporting & budgeting activities related to the development of licensing submittals.* Manages and is responsible for meetings as well as preparation for submittals and interactions with the regulatory authorities.* Works closely with partner organizations to provide the required support on licensing activities.* Assists in managing interactions and communications with the regulatory authorities.* Supports the development of licensing submittals including implementation of the reactor licensing strategy* Supports the development and implementation of Regulatory Engagement Plans* Works closely with the design authority and design engineering groups to ensure adequate and timely engineering products to support licensing activities.* Works closely with the design authority and design engineering groups to ensure adequate and timely responses to licensing issues involving the design.* Works closely with the design authority and design engineering groups to ensure adequate and timely completion of testing required to support licensing activities.* Actively participates in industry groups and forums, implementing lessons learned and industry best practices at TerraPower.Key Qualifications:* B.S. degree with a strong experience base in the nuclear field; advanced degree is preferred.* 5 + years of direct nuclear reactor licensing management experience* 10 + years of direct experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.* 10 + years of direct experience in project management.* 10 + years direct experience with licensing nuclear power reactors and related areas such as reactor safety analysis, design basis accident analysis, severe accident analysis, SAR development, PRA, and other analyses required to establish the safety case for nuclear power reactor licensing.* The candidate must be an excellent communicator, team oriented, willing to operate within a matrix organization and is able to direct remote team members.* Experience working with plant design teams is desirable.* Experience with advanced reactors is desirable, but not mandatory.* The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.Job FunctionsJob Functions are physical actions and/or working conditions associated with the position.
