Your Day-to-Day: Accountable for the successful operations of the group in its primary accountability for assuring of the Safe Operation of Global Nuclear Operating Plants that utilize Westinghouse Fuel, Technology, and/or Engineering Services as a part of the operation of their Nuclear Power Plant. The group performs emergent issue resolution activities in support of emergent issues at our customer's Global Nuclear Operating Plants and with the Fuel Manufacturing at our Westinghouse Fuel Manufacturing Facilities. This requires understanding and being able to implement assistance on a 24/7 need basis and to understand how to apply fitness for duty requirements. The group performs 1st Core and Reload Core Design work including: Lattice Design, Loading Pattern Development, Loading Pattern Risk Analyses, Reload Safety Evaluation, Nuclear Design Report, and Cycle Operation Models & Data. The group delivers multiple Engineering Services from its portfolio utilizing the skills of its 20 personnel that include plant operation and Spent Fuel Pool Criticality. The group supports development work for new plants, fuel, technology, methods, and applications which helps drive Nuclear Fuel strategy and objectives to meet customer and market needs. Supplemental effort also includes supporting commercial offers with technical expertise. The Manager will focus on the following objectives: 1) Maintain a Nuclear Safe Working Environment, 2) Work with the Core Engineering (CE) Processes and Actions to predict and monitor the required skills and headcount to deliver upon the business need demand, 3) Monitor and Manage the group's costs to objectives, 4) Work with CE Transformation Coordinator to constantly improve upon the group's Business Costs and Efficiencies, 5) Work with CE Business Manager to Review and Forecast the group's Business for Current FY and to plan the group's business for Next Year and 5 Year Plans, 6) Work with CE Staff for the overall successful requirements of the Business Needs placed upon the CE Department, 7) Work with HR and HR Processes to oversee the People Management Objectives of the group and with the group's Personnel, and 8) Work and meet regularly with and develop Key Customer Relationships with Utilities Engineering Personnel and Management Personnel to assure of understanding the customer needs and expectations for the Fuel Engineering Technology Products that they utilize.
Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required. Minimum 8years of strong and progressively more responsible leadership experience required. Experience managing engineering teams is preferred Experience with negotiations, persuasion, listening, and people development skills is essential. Ability to engage customers to promote group products and services. Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers and engineering groups. Solid understanding of high technology products and systems. Ability to gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make effective decisions. Excellent team building skills with ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
