This role will own the cost and revenue accounting for the Amazon’s internal logistic last mile/middle mile network, a complicated and dynamic multi-billion-dollar network that grows exponentially since 2018. And the network is expected to continue to grow at a pace that’s never seen before, which indicates a significant amount of growth opportunities from learning and career development perspective. The scope includes all internal logistic related business, such as Delivery Service Providers, Flex drivers, Delivery stations, Sort Centers, Aircraft, air hubs/gateway, fleet management, just to name a few. We are seeking an accounting manager to execute various accounting tasks, project launches, automation project, technical accounting and worldwide standardization to help support such as fast-growing network globally.
Key job responsibilities
This role requires a self-starter with the ability to be analytical and the ability to navigate ambiguous situations with limited guidance. This role requires excellent communication skills and project management skills in order to collaborate with all the key stakeholders across finance, controllership, accounting, FBI team, tech, and business partners. The ideal candidate will own all close related activities, lead project launches, including both business launch and tech automation, draft accounting memos, research technical accounting guidance and ensure that all the SOX requirement are up-to-date for the key processes and controls. The candidate needs to exhibit a strong sense of ownership, excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Furthermore, this candidate should continue to improve process, drive change where needed to ensure that the team maintain the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness for work performed. The person is also expected to understand internal control and related SOX requirement and ensure all process/controls are functioning as intended and all the new/growing businesses are properly assessed from control perspective. This person should also act as the global lead of the transportation as business continue to expand globally and collaborate with all international counter for standardization.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
CPA
Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
