Provide purchasing support in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering.Responsibilities
Assist faculty and research assistants with the ordering of parts and materials for research programs with the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering which may include coordinating with vendors on quotes to process standard purchase orders for each group.
Responsible for all departmental voucher payment processes (VP1, VP2, VPE, VT5) and wire transfers.
Provide other procurement processing for the department as needed. Process procurement-related documents affiliated with purchases, including purchase orders via UT Market, Point Plus, and Procard.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field with one year experience.
Experience with UT mainframe application and web modules.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working in an office environment.
Demonstrated creative and analytical thinking.
Experience with databases and working with confidential information.
Extensive experience using Excel and Adobe Acrobat software and comfortable with other software applications.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the work to be performed.
Diploma (High School) or GED with at least 5 years experience
Salary Range
$45,000+ depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
Standard office conditions
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
Work Shift
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Occasional evening, weekend, or overtime hours may be required.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid (on-campus and off-campus) work based on business needs and at the discretion of the supervisor.
