Brown and Caldwell is in need of the right candidate to provide design delivery leadership for our largest and most complex municipal water/wastewater design projects.This Senior Engineering Design Manager is a rare opportunity to lead major projects and deliver exceptional service to our well-established clients. This senior level position will be responsible for managing water/wastewater design and planning projects and maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing company that places high value on exceptional client service, good science and employee growth and satisfaction.Job Expectations:Manage multi-discipline project delivery for municipal water/wastewater projects to produce compliant, constructable design in accordance with client, operations, maintenance, regulatory, and construction requirementsWork on engineering designs preparing reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates for various projectsWork with project leadership and design discipline leads to develop project scopes, schedules, pricing, teams, and execution plansActively direct multi-discipline design project resources and interface with clientsConvene, lead, and document multi-disciplinary design coordination meetings and bring forward updates and critical issues to the project leadership teamAssume responsibility for meeting budget and profitability goals for assigned projectsPlay an active role in the maintenance of existing clients and the development of new client relationshipsProvide consultation in specialized areas. Make decisions and solve problemsParticipate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiencyPrepare and make presentations to clients for project technical meetingsEnsure the quality of work products within the scope of the budget and schedule of the projectSupervise and mentor teams of design engineers in delivering projects and professional growthSupervise direct reports; evaluate performance, manage performance, mentor, and trainServe as liaison between construction administration and engineering team during construction. Coordinate multi-disciplinary reviews and problem solving for design related construction issues
Desired Skills and Experience:B.S. degree in related engineering field of Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Master's degree a plus.10+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in related experience preferred.Professionally registered (Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical) engineer required; license must be current and in good standing.Demonstrated strong project management skills.Ability to focus on client needs while balancing multiple, changing priorities to include but not limited to project management, design, bidding and construction management services.Strong technical writing skills required.Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience.Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations and prepare written reports.Demonstrated ability to lead geographically diverse project teams in a virtual and hybrid work environment.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred but not required.Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering and capital cost estimating techniques a plus.Experience with multi-discipline project delivery using building information modeling (BIM).
Salary Range: Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education.
