Senior/Lead Field Energy Auditor
Compensation: $65k-85k pr/yr
Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person, Day Shift.

The Senior/Lead Field Energy Auditor will be conducting residential energy performance audits in accordance with Building Performance Institute (BPI) standards and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) program requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building science, energy efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive energy efficiency audits for residential properties, focusing on identifying opportunities for energy savings and retrofitting the building envelope (weatherization).
Perform in-home assessments to determine insulation quality, air sealing, HVAC system efficiency, and other factors impacting home energy performance.
Develop detailed reports and recommend energy efficiency upgrades, including air sealing, weather stripping, insulation improvements, and duct repairs.
Ensure compliance with local energy codes and program guidelines (NY State energy efficiency programs).
Provide expert recommendations for retrofit implementation and weatherization projects, ensuring strict quality control and full compliance with established energy efficiency standards.
Work closely with the energy team to verify that all work meets NYSERDA, PSEG, and program standards.
Provide homeowners with education on energy efficiency measures and potential energy savings.
Experience & Requirements:
MINIMUM 3 years of experience in energy efficiency auditing and
weatherization projects REQUIRED.
Experience in building envelope retrofits, including insulation, air sealing, and other weatherization measures.
Experience with retrofit implementation (such as weatherization or building envelope improvements) is a must.
Certification Requirements:
Active BPI (Building Performance Institute) Building Analyst certification is mandatory.
Additional Certifications Preferred:
AEE Certified Energy Auditor.
ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional.
LEED Rater.
RESNET Home Energy Rater (HERS).
